Product Review Thursday: L’Oreal Voluminous Butterfly

This weeks product is L’Oreal’s Voluminous Butterfly Mascara 

I never felt the need to wear mascara because as I was growing up it always felt like too much. However as my look has evolved mascara has become a staple in my everyday routine. This mascara in particular is a one that has me hooked. 

After others from the budget section made my eyes water, not from tears of joy let me tell you, I decided to try this. Well it does live up to the advertisement, as it lifts my eyelashes and gives that full effect with little to no clumping. Though it doesn’t feel too much either, in fact I do one layer for day wear and two for evening/going out. So it’s pretty versatile.  

This mascara didn’t leave me in tears, my eyes didn’t water and it didn’t irritate them to redness either. So other than a bit hard to wash off (it’s waterproof) it seemed to treat my skin and eyes pretty well.

The applicator does help even me, the not so experienced, get a good look. It’s easy and no smearing or drying out by the applicator either. 

The price was a bit much because I bought this when it first came out, but now that it’s been around awhile, I have seen the price drop a bit. 

All in all <3 <3 < (again for the price, but one day I will find that product that is perfect and kind to my purse)

Hello World!

Hi my name is Anita Crumbly. Well, if anyone asks to see my ID, the last name may be a bit of a fib, but believe me, crumbly fits. I have always loved vintage even before I knew there was a whole world of vintage to love. Growing up in East Los Angeles to divorced parents, I learned right away the art of thrift shopping and yard sale hunting. Now I can’t get enough of the hunt for a beautiful dress or a pair of shoes that once cost hundreds, but now only cost me a five dollar bill. The challenge is a bit more, as I am a size 16 and 5’2”, so even when I can get myself to a vintage shop, it takes a bit of luck and prayer to find something that fits just right.

Currently living in Huntington Park with my boyfriend, the budget is one thing this gal has to take account of and I find no shame in saying that, we, like most other couples, are starting out and always trying to find ways to save. So anything you see on this blog will probably not have a hefty price tag, but like I learned growing up, that is no reason to not have fun!

Aside from attire (and I do love attire), I see vintage as more of a lifestyle. It’s a nice reminder that there are others out there that still choose classic values that made you say “Hi" to your mailman and make a pie for the neighbor. It also makes me feel good about myself: being the chubby girl with epilepsy as far back as I can remember and never really feeling comfortable in my own skin, vintage allows me to feel feminine. I feel like a model and walk everywhere with confidence. I feel like a Decked out Dolly.
